Pens

So you want to play with pens do you?  Well, there are a few things you can do with pens.  If you can draw, go ahead and draw right on your card!  I don’t really have an example of a card that’s just drawn because my drawing skills are not exactly the best (hence the 30 day drawing challenge I’m trying to work myself through over on my Facebook page).  And, you could even bring it a step further and color your drawings.  Ooooh!  Fancy!   Or how about tracing your kids’ hands and embellishing them to look like… well, whatever it is that people make kids hands like these days.  I only remember the turkey, but I’ve seen so many different things on Pinterest now.

But let’s say you just want to add a little detail with your pens.  By all means, go ahead!  The dashed line on this card is hand drawn and adds a really nice border to the card.

The same treatment could be done with small sayings (if you have legible handwriting) or little doodles.  I’ve seen quite a few zen tangle examples on Pinterest as well, you could try your hand at that.

Or, if you happen to have a silhouette, use the sketch pen feature.  This little 3×3 took me less than 5 minutes to put together in the software and run it through the machine, even with the color change.

And of course, you could choose to do the pen entirely in black and then color it in with markers, crayons, or whatever coloring tool you happen to have.

Let’s go back to the printing.

I hear that stamping is just up ahead, let’s head over there!

Let’s go back and take a look at all those decorating options again.
